Nilai Asah, Asih, Asuh Dalam Novel Akar Karya Dewi Lestari

Abstract

Abstract: Literature is the product of human creation that expresses their thoughts, ideas, understanding, and responses of the creator's feelings about life which are complemented by looking for the authenticity, background, and beliefs of the creator. According to the theory proposed by Ki Hajar Dewantara, education is generally a life demand that grows on children in taking education. The method employed by this research is descriptive qualitative. The source of data in this research is the novel entitled Akar, written by Dewi Lestari, which was published in 2012. The data analyzed in this study are in the form of text quotes related to events in the novel Akar by Dewi Lestari. Based on the analysis of the novel entitled Akar by Dewi Lestari, the results consist of three parts, those are (1) sharpening the mind, which is shown by Bodhi who works as a daily radio announcer, Punk who fills music shows wherever they perform with his friends and Bodhi as a tattooist. The next result is (2) love and affection shown by Master Liong's attitude of fostering and raising Bodhi. Master Lion found Bodhi when he was a baby. He then fostered and raised him. This attitude illustrates the concern for fellow living beings shown by Master Liong to Bodhi. The final result is (3) maintaining, educating, training their abilities, motivating them, and reminding each other of the truth, and always be patient in order to create good cooperation in the family and society.
